What is a Guinness bloody mary?

A Guinness bloody mary is a bloody mary that has all the traditional ingredients of a bloody mary with a splash or two of Guinness beer. This is not a michelada where you would have a full cup of beer with a splash of bloody mary mix or Clamato, but a bloody with a splash of Guinness.

Is a Guinness bloody mary good?

A Guinness bloody mary is next-level good! It not only adds a tremendous amount of flavor to the bloody mary but it changes the texture and dimension of the bloody mary.

Because Guinness is a dry dark Irish stout the bloody mary becomes a little bit creamy but the dryness prevents it from becoming frothy and won’t overpower the rest of the ingredient. The subtle sweetness but smooth richness of Guinness adds a unique flavor to a bloody mary that will have you savoring every sip!

When is the best time to enjoy the Guinness bloody mary recipe?

There really is no bad time to enjoy a Guinness bloody mary. It’s a great way to intrigue beer and bloody mary lovers into trying something new or giving a bloody mary a shot in the first place. I’ve enjoyed them at restaurants and bars all year long.

With that being said, being that Guinness is an Irish national treasure the recipe can be great for some kegs and eggs Saint Patrick’s Day celebrations. Nothing like a stiff bloody and some Irish beer to wet your whistle at 7 AM on March 17th!

What brunch food pairs well with a Guinness bloody mary?

What a loaded question. The true answer is any brunch food really. I would personally like to keep it more on the breakfast side of brunch than the lunch side of brunch but that’s my personal opinion. You can enjoy a Guinness bloody mary at a tailgate or cookout or with your favorite Irish breakfast.

Guinness is such a great beer to cook with as well, this recipe can be used to marinate food or cook in your favorite dish like Irish Guinness stew!

How do you make a Guinness bloody mary?

First, you’ll decide on what ingredients your want to have in your bloody mary. For my recipe, I decided to go with the more traditional ingredients of a bloody mary like tomato juice, lemon juice, horseradish, celery salt, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt & pepper, and of course vodka. Yes, you still add vodka even with the beer!

After you’ve mixed up your bloody mary with all the ingredients besides the beer in a shaker or tin, add ice to a glass and pour the bloody mar mixture into the glass leaving about 3-4 inches from the top for the Guinness as well as a garnish.

Add the Guinness beer to your glass and stir. You don’t want to shake the bloody mary mixture with the beer in it because it will cause it to be very foamy due to the carbonation.

Once you have made your co*cktail, add your garnish and enjoy! For my Guinness bloody mary Recipe, I decided to garnish the co*cktail with a corned beef slider and Irish bacon and sausages!
