Oni Press, no stranger to controversy at the publisher of the most banned graphic novel in the US, revives the EC Comics imprint, whose combination of gore, satire and sophistication triggered the first efforts to censor comics in the 1950s. Since 2020, the New York City Public Schools social studies department has been a leader in using comics in the classroom, commissioning titles from some of the top professionals in the industry. With over 2 million copies and 25 titles in print, their numbers would put then in the top ranks of American comics publishers!
