He was 85 years old. He was a long time resident of Allentown's Union Terrace neighborhood and a former member of Temple Beth El, Allentown.

Monroe was born on September 19, 1923 in south Bethlehem to Hungarian immigrants, Max and Helen (Friedman) Hausman. After attending Fountain Hill High School, he enlisted in the Army, where he proudly served his country. In 1947, he married Frances Bergsman of Cleveland, Ohio. They had four children. He was predeceased by Frances in 1970.

Monroe was in business at Metro Decorators, Allentown. In his later years, he married Shirley November of Great Neck, N.Y. They enjoyed 16 retirement years together in Arizona before he passed away. Survivors: He is survived by his brother, Jerome and his wife, Florence, of Bethlehem; his children, Mark and his wife, Mary, of Barto and their children, Michael, Matthew and Melissa; David and his children, Frances, Jonathan and Laura; Scott and his wife, Sandy, of Gilbert, Ariz. and their children, Joshua and Jessica; Lisa and her husband, Geoffrey Lewis, of Germantown, Maryland and their children, Geoffrey and Justin.

He died due to complications from a heart attack he suffered during a successful hunt in Bostick Plantation, Estile, S.C.He and his wife, Maxine (Mumbauer) Colver, would have celebrated 55 years of marriage on January 28. Del was born on Feb. 4, 1935 in Lower Nazareth Township, son of the late Franklin and Eleanor (Getter) Colver. He was a State Farm Insurance Agent in Wilson since 1962. Del worked with his daughter, Cherie, as she served as his office manager for the past 28 years.

He was proud of their devoted and competent staff, Lori Avery and Cindy Conopaski. Del was of the Lutheran faith. He was a 1953 graduate of Pen Argyl High School. Del was an accomplished big game hunter and an expert rifleman. He greatly enjoyed his hunting trips to Africa, Canada, North America and Hawaii.

He was a life member of the N.R.A. He also was a member of the North American Hunting Club, Safari International and the Republican Club, Wilson. Del traveled extensively abroad and enjoyed his yearly cruises with his wife. Del achieved many awards for his work in insurance, including the prestigious Golden Triangle Award in 2005. He was an Ambassador Qualifer 24 years.

Survivors: Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Charles V. Colver and his wife, Diane, of Lenhartsville and Marc R. Colver of Old Hickory, daughter, Cherie Young and her husband, Peter, of Bethlehem Township; three grandchildren, Victoria Colver, Emily and Peter Young; brother, Nevin in Florida; sister, Darlene in Oklahoma; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Diane Mumbauer of Forks Township; sister-in-law, Joyce Colver of Bethlehem Township.
