Some things are just made to go together. When I was a child, I loved candy bars and cookies. To be honest, I never outgrew that love. I would be happy to have those two items daily if I could. Now that I have gotten older and have to be healthier, I have to consider my splurges. One of my favorites are these easy Candy Bar Cookies. They only have five ingredients, everyone compliments them and take a few minutes to make. And, if you don’t want to make the chocolate glaze, they only take three ingredients. Let’s face it, most of us don’t have hours to spend in the kitchen and wantfast and easy recipes. These cookies have saved me more than once when the kids told me at the last minute they needed to take something for a school bake sale or snack.
How to Make Candy Bar Cookies:
I keep the basic ingredients in the freezer and pull them out when needed. If you are really in a hurry, don’t bother with the chocolate topping. These can easily be made gluten free by using gluten free cookie dough and candy. Here’s all you need to make them:
I usually use sugar cookie dough and Milky Way or Snickers Candy bars for the filling, but the beauty of these cookies is you can use whatever ingredients you want and come up with a different mixture each time. Want different combinations? Try Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough with Caramels or Peanut Butter Cookie Dough with Hershey’s Kisses. Let your imagination go wild!
Simply mix the cookie dough with the flour until it is blended. Roll the dough out flat on a greased surface. I usually use a piece of waxed paper sprayed with some cooking spray. If you don’t have (or can’t find) a rolling pin, use a glass coated with cooking spray. Use the glass to cut the cookies into circles.
Add a piece of the chopped candy bar to the center of each cookie. Roll each cookie into a ball and place on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 10 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely. Make chocolate icing by melting milk chocolate chips and cream together in the microwave. Spoon into the center of each cookie.
Quick Cooking-Candy Bar Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 (16 ounce) package refrigerated sugar cookie mix
- 10 fun sized chocolate candy bars, chopped
- ½ cup (4 ounces) flour
- 1 cup (8 ounces) milk chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons cream
Instructions
- Mix cookie dough and flour until blended. Roll out onto a greased cookie sheet. Cut circles from the dough. Add a piece of chopped candy onto each piece of dough. Roll dough into a ball. Bake 10 minutes or until light brown. Allow to cool completely. Melt chocolate chips and cream together in a microwave safe bowl for 30 seconds. Stir. Melt for 30 seconds more if needed. Spoon onto tops of cookies.
